Notes:

In 1995 Gavin Endicott asked me to listen to an existing soundtrack for a short film called "The Plane". He had produced it while at UniTech, and he had used music which he liked very much but to which he did not have the rights. As the film had just been chosen to be broadcast on national TV, he needed some original music that "sounded exactly like, but was different from" the existing music, and in a hurry. A challenge indeed...

I usually leave it as a mystery as to what the original music was, but now I feel that the time has come to reveal them:

  • The soundtrack from "Edward Scissorhands" (although I ended up being more influenced by "Peter and the Wolf").
  • "Breakaway (I can't)" by the Australian band Big Pig
  • Almost any track by Enya
