This replaces an old Alesis 1622 mixer which, although not actually dead, seemed to me to be about to fail. So opportunity presented itself. One nice thing about this model is that it has balanced microphone inputs and phantom power, so it also allowed me to upgrade my vocal microphone to a half-way decent MXL 2001 condenser.
