Resting Up

CityDesk 2.0 has been released, and they're offering a free upgrade to the Professional edition for anyone who bought the Home edition of 1.0. This includes me.

This is good news, because in the Pro version, the number of files/articles is unlimited, which opens up some interesting possiblities for how I can maintain and format my diary.  With some re-organisation and conversion, I can have a single repository for all my daily posts, and no longer need to create monthly extracts that have to be purged.

Also, I've often wondered whether to start a public "blog" that anyone on the Internet could read, in a public location on the web site. Well, now I might actually do that, by using a CityDesk feature where I tag each post with an "audience" value, using "private" for family stuff and "everyone" for stuff of more general interest.

So, I'm working on a slightly different format for the web site, and hopefully nothing will change on the regular email newsletter end. We'll see!
